The operator below is the controller of personal data processed by this application. Voting does not require an account. This notice describes Season 1.

Browser identifiers and security

A signed voter_key cookie, lasting up to 180 days, manages the daily voting limit and the daily nomination limit. These two limits are separate. A session cookie supports request security and administrator login. These are technical cookies, not advertising cookies. Blocking them can prevent voting, nominating or login from working.

In demo mode, session storage remembers that you have dismissed the introductory notice in this browser tab. This preference is not sent to the server and normally ends when the tab is closed. It is not used for analytics or advertising.

Votes are linked to a random browser identifier. This is pseudonymous data, not guaranteed anonymity. The database also holds keyed hashes derived from IP addresses and request counts for abuse prevention. Server logs may contain IP addresses, request paths and technical error information.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and securing the poll and preventing abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Nominations and reports

We store the nominee’s name, submitted description and optional public reference link. Approved names and descriptions are public. This information comes from nominators, moderators and public sources. Public-figure status does not remove privacy rights. Publication must balance freedom of expression, the subject’s rights and our legitimate interest in running a moderated satirical poll.

The nominator’s optional email is used only for questions about the nomination or its moderation outcome, not marketing. Automated outcome emails are not currently available; use the private status link to check progress. Our basis for this limited correspondence is our legitimate interest in handling nominations.

Reports, moderation notes and nominator emails are not displayed publicly. Reports are processed to assess complaints, protect rights and deal with misuse. Include only information necessary to explain the issue. Do not submit intimate or sensitive information about anyone. We do not use votes to build advertising profiles or infer voters’ political beliefs.

Support

Season 1 does not accept payments for votes or nominations. If we later add voluntary support for the creator, we will explain the payment provider, data it processes and the applicable terms before accepting a contribution.

Who receives data

Non-public records are accessible to the operator and authorised administrators. The server or hosting provider may process technical data to run the service. Public nominations can be read and copied by visitors. We do not sell personal data.

Pages currently load the Raleway typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google and sends connection information such as your IP address and browser details. Google may process this outside the EEA under its own arrangements.

Analytics

When configured, we use GoatCounter for basic, privacy-oriented traffic statistics (page views and referrers). GoatCounter is designed to work without advertising cookies and without building advertising profiles. The browser may contact GoatCounter’s servers with technical request data needed to count a visit. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers.

How long information stays

Votes, nominations and reports remain until the operator deletes them or resets the data. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule for these records or rate-limit records. The 180-day cookie lifetime does not delete server data. A production retention schedule, including server logs and backups, must be set before public launch.

Relevant information may need to be kept for an ongoing complaint or a legal duty. Deleting browser cookies alone does not delete server records.

Your rights

You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction and, where applicable, portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including a nomination about you. These rights depend on the circumstances and may need to be balanced with freedom of expression or legal duties.

Contact the operator below, identifying the relevant page or nomination where possible. Do not send identity documents unless specifically needed. We may request proportionate information to verify a request. We normally respond within one month; if a lawful extension is needed, we explain it within that first month.
